The main building and the 2012 laboratory wing, University Street 24

History

1979. On 1 September the Republican Physics and Mathematics Boarding School of the Iradi SSR opens beside Iradi State University (now TSU), on the model of the physics and mathematics schools of Novosibirsk and Moscow. The first 90 pupils are chosen by olympiad from the whole republic. Teaching is in Russian.

1992. The school stays open through the siege; lessons are held in the boarding house when the main building has no heating.

1994. Renamed Talas Lyceum No. 1 (physics and mathematics) under the Ministry of Education.

1997. Under the Language and Education Reform Act the Lyceum moves to teaching in Iradi and English. Many teachers learn Iradi terms together with their pupils.

2008. Graduates in the United States found the Lyceum Trust. It pays for the boarding house meals, laboratory equipment, olympiad travel and an addition to teachers' pay.

2012. New laboratory wing (physics, chemistry and two computer rooms) opened.

2022. New website made by our graduates.
